The Immigration Legal Services Department of Caminando Juntos provides a variety of direct legal services for immigrant clients, including the following:​

• Naturalization (citizenship)

• Adjustment of Status (green card/lawful permanent resident) applications

• Family-Based Petitions (visas for those seeking to unite/reunite families)

• Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Renewals (DACA)

• Renewal/Replacement of Lawful Permanent Residence Cards

• Removal of conditions for Lawful Permanent Residences

• Applications for Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) and Renewals/Replacement of EAD cards

• Consular Processing

• Applications for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Renewal of TPS

• Certificates of Citizenship & Replacement of Certificates

• FOIA Requests (Freedom of Information Act)

• Fee Waivers

• FBI and Criminal Background Checks

• Referrals to attorneys or other service providers as appropriate

Our Immigration Legal Services team is passionate about their commitment to educating clients on their immigration legal options, counseling them on how best to proceed, and representing them through the process of filing their cases and obtaining the desired outcomes.  Facilitating a client’s visa process and seeing families reunited after years of separation is a great joy. It is also a wonderful blessing to be present at a client’s naturalization ceremony and see them become fully participating members of our society with all the rights and privileges associated with U.S. citizenship.

 

In 2024 we responded to nearly 2,500 immigration calls and consultation requests and filed or represented nearly 200 clients in their immigration cases.
