Allison Moran, Resource Manager
Allison was born in El Salvador and has spent more than a decade living in Sioux Falls. She joined the ministry in 2024 as a member of the front desk staff. She will assist Latino clients in finding community resources, scheduling appointments, filling out applications, and accessing other basic needs. She joined the Caminando Juntos ministry because she enjoys helping others, particularly members of the Latino community, with a smile and a servant’s heart. She is fully bilingual. She is a Brandon Valley High School graduate who likes to explore local hiking trails, try new cuisines, and embark on spontaneous road trips.

Shelley R. Johnson, Immigration Legal Services Director
Shelley Johnson joined the Ministry of Caminando Juntos in January of 2025 as the Immigration Legal Services Program Director and works remotely from Memphis, Tennessee. Shelley holds a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Memphis School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a focus on U.S. and Mexico border relations from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Over the last 15+ years, Shelley has lived and worked in Texas, Washington, DC, Guatemala, and Tennessee. Shelley has over a decade and a half of experience in both the private sector and non-profit immigration law field. She has practiced non-profit immigration law for five years as an Accredited Representative and is bilingual. Shelley is intentional about creating a space for clients where they feel supported, valued, and understood. Outside of work, Shelley enjoys spending time and traveling with her husband and two children, ages 2 and 4. Shelley loves a hot cup of coffee, reading fiction and mystery novels, and cooking creative meals for family and friends.

Maria Fernanda Puente, Immigration Legal Assistant
Maria Fernanda Puente was born in Chihuahua, Mexico and grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She joined the Caminando Juntos team in 2025 as the Immigration Legal Services’ Legal Assistant. With several years of legal experience supporting attorneys and working closely with clients, Maria is passionate about helping immigrants navigate the legal system with compassion and dignity. She’s dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and valued.
Outside of work, Maria enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband and stepdaughter. She also loves reading, cooking, and being surrounded by family and friends. Alongside her husband, she co-owns a small creative business that blends their shared love for design and entrepreneurship.

Angie Iverson, Education Program Director
Angie holds her undergraduate degree in Spanish from South Dakota State University and her Master’s in Spanish from Middlebury College of Vermont and Spain. She joined the Caminando Juntos team in 2025. She is a proud Hispanic woman who has spent her life living in various places of the United States and Europe (Italy and Spain). Her father is from Brookings, South Dakota and her mother from Honduras, Central America.
Angie also has over a decade of experience in Spanish instruction at South Dakota State University teaching various levels of Spanish to English speakers. She knows that learning different languages and cultures is not only enriching, but important for us to stay connected globally.
Angie, her husband Anthony, and their dog, Desmond love living in Sioux Falls where they enjoy local restaurants and coffeeshops, community events, and enjoy looking for second hand goods for a more eco-friendly life. Angie always has her suitcase and passport ready for new adventures.

Matthew Tschetter, Executive Director
Matthew Tschetter joined the Ministry in 2022, upon returning to South Dakota. He holds 2 Masters degrees in Peace and Justice Studies and in Community and International Development; as well as degrees in Organizational Leadership and Christian Ministries/Youth Ministries and Bible. Born in Colombia, South America and raised in eastern South Dakota, he has since lived and worked in various Latin American countries and is bilingual. He comes to the ministry with extensive religious nonprofit board governance and leadership experience. His passion and calling are clear, to joyfully serve and work for justice. He enjoys spending time reading, photography and being with his wife and family.
